I am pleased to introduce a series of new workshops. They will involve getting outdoors into beautiful locations, allowing you to connect with nature and inspire your creativity.

By walking and spending time in the natural world we can give ourselves the chance to slow down and reduce our stress levels whilst heightening our powers of observation and  imagination.

Each workshop will run between 11.00 - 3.00. The workshops will all involve walking a route (approximately a mile) and spending time, along the way, for different creative projects.  All materials are provided. Appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather are needed as well as a packed lunch. There will be car parking and toilets available at the start and finish of the walk. Periods of activity will be in areas that have logs or benches to sit on but you are welcome to bring a small fold up stool if you wish.

These workshops will be held in two very special places.

Springhead, Fontmell Magna, Dorset

Springhead lies at the foot of north Dorset’s most spectacular downland.

It is the site of an18th century mill. The small pool at its centre is fed by running water that cascades beneath the mill house to become a gentle stream, Collyer’s Brook, flowing into the River Stour. It has a picturesque lakeside garden and at the head of the lake, where the chalk of the downs meets the greensand of the vale, icy, clear water bubbles up from seven mysterious springs that are crossed by a wooden bridge and overshadowed by huge trees.

Bonsley Wood, Durweston, Dorset.

Bonsley Wood comprises an area of approximately 30 acres of mixed, broadleaved woodland.

The Dorset Coppice Group have use of the woodland for educational purposes, and to manage part of it as a traditional, rotational coppice woodland. It is an enchanting place which includes areas of ancient woodland with wide rides and clear paths to walk along.
