Sgraffito is a drawing technique where a sharp tool is used to scratch into a surface to produce drawings with fine lines.

In this workshop sgraffito is used as a painting technique where you scratch through a coloured layer of paint to reveal already painted colours underneath. It is a simple and effective way of experimenting and producing energetic, exciting and sometimes accidental marks in your work.

There will a demonstration in the morning of the various techniques followed by a chance to experiment  using different materials, papers and tools. In the afternoon you will have time to produce a work based on what you have learnt.

We will be working in the light and spacious village hall at Semley which has a lovely outside area and plenty of parking space. The Hall is situated just off the A350 on the edge of the village of Semley in Dorset.

Teas and coffees available throughout the day. Bring a packed lunch.

£75 including all materials. The day runs from 10.30 - 4
