COLLAGRAPHS   Saturday 9th November 10.30 - 4.00
Cowshed Studio, Goldhill Organic Farm, Child Okeford. Dorset, DT11 8HB

Collagraphs are a print taken from a textured collage. You build an image on a base plate by sticking down various materials such as  torn and cut paper, cardboard, fabrics, paint, threads, leaves and grass for example.  Ink or pigment is applied to the resulting collage, and the board is used to print onto paper using either a printing press or various hand tools. The print picks up all the various textures.

We will experiment with very simple ways of producing a collagraph, in this workshop, looking at natural and organic elements for textural inspiration such as leaves, seed heads, and feathers. Using the beautiful studio Victorian etching press,  you will go home

with a set of unique prints.

Maximum of 3 in the class so there will be plenty of individual tuition. It is suitable for all levels of ability.

My studio is on an organic Vegetable farm in Child Okeford looking up to the magnificent Hambledon Hill, a prehistoric hill fort. There will be time to wander round the farm, have a browse in the farm shop and even have lunch in the cafe on site.

£90 including all materials                                                                           Maximum 3 people
